Bio

Ms. Joan is a Speech-Language Pathologist who joined the Progressive Pediatric Therapy team in 2019. She primarily provides care in the community, taking a child-led, relationship-based approach to therapy and valuing collaboration with families, caregivers, and other members of a child’s team. Her clinical interests include Autism, neurodiversity-affirming care, gestalt language processing, AAC, motor speech disorders, and literacy.

Joan has completed specialized training in the Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) Framework for Gestalt Language Processors, AAC and Gestalt Language Processing, Level 1 PROMPT, and the Beckman Oral Motor Protocol.

Joan earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Florida in 2015 and her Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Florida in 2017. Her clinical experience spans a variety of settings, including the clinic, home, school, and telehealth setting. Outside of work, Joan cherishes slow, cozy days with her family and life as a mom.
